Tooth Extractions Victorville, Ca.
WHY WOULD YOU WANT A TOOTH EXTRACTION?
The process of tooth extractions
If you do need to have a tooth extraction, there are several ways that we can go about the procedure. First, we will numb the area of your mouth so that you do not feel any direct discomfort. You will feel pressure during the procedure but otherwise remain relaxed and comfortable. If your tooth has matured and broken through the gums, we can use dental tools to wiggle the tooth and pull it out of the socket. Afterward, the area will be thoroughly cleaned, and gauze will be used to stop the bleeding while you recover. If your tooth is impacted or still below the surface, as is common with wisdom teeth, oral surgery may be necessary for removing it.
How to care for your mouth after a tooth extraction
Another reason to schedule a dental check-up is to make sure that you don’t experience a toothache or infection. We treat patients throughout the 92392 area and find that toothaches can create enough discomfort to cause people to miss work. In fact, according to the Center for Disease Control, 164 million work hours are lost each and every year due to dental related health issues. If you are like many of our Victorville patients that don’t feel they have time for the dentist, you definitely need to schedule a dental check-up. Failing to do so could result in a more serious health condition forming and the need to take time off of work. After all, without preventative dental care, you are at a greater risk for tooth decay, infection, and gum disease.
WHY REMOVE WISDOM TEETH?
If you still have your wisdom teeth, you may need to have them removed. We invite you to schedule an appointment with our dentist office so that we can examine your teeth and take X-rays to determine whether or not you should keep your wisdom teeth. Not everyone needs to have them out, so it depends on how much room you have and whether they are growing in straight or impacted. Also, if you have worn braces, they might need to be removed to prevent them pushing the other teeth forward. The process of removing wisdom teeth is roughly the same as any other tooth with the exception of when and why we perform the procedure. At Liberty Village Dental Care, we typically recommend wisdom teeth removal in the teenage years. General extractions are more common as people age and have a tooth that needs to be removed due to a severe infection or significant damage. To find out whether or not you should keep your wisdom teeth, call (760) 955-2273 to schedule an appointment to speak with Dr. Sergio Aguila.
At Liberty Village Dental Care, we practice preventative care and can help in an emergency situation. If you feel intense discomfort in your tooth or your jaw, give us a call since this could be a sign of a dental abscess or severe infection. Simultaneously, if it hurts when you bite down or chew this can also be an indication of a cavity or infection. Other signs like puss or bleeding indicate that you should call (760) 955-2273 and schedule an appointment with our family dentistry office right away.
We provide dental implants so that our patients can regain their self-confidence, improve their health, and approach life boldly.
We can provide you with the surgical procedure you need to maintain or restore your oral health.
Regardless of how your teeth look today, we can improve your smile using a variety of cosmetic dentistry procedures.
A dental crown is a cap that surrounds the tooth. We will typically use a crown to restore a tooth that has been severely damaged.
WHY YOU SHOULDN’T WAIT FOR DENTAL CARE
While we understand that many people wait to seek dental care due to anxiety, time, or finances, we do not recommend it. Instead, we suggest that you schedule a dental exam now, even if you aren’t experiencing any discomfort. Doing so will allow us to remove any plaque or bacteria that has built up on your teeth, ensure that you don’t have any cavities that are forming and prevent you from experiencing gum disease. Our goal is to treat you before you have any health issues, and a dental check-up is designed to allow us to do so. If you live in the 92392 area, it doesn’t matter why you haven’t been to the dentist in a while. We welcome you to come back in so that we can protect and improve your oral health.
