How Much Do Snap-in Denture Implants Cost?

When researching dental implants, you may observe a variety of prices being offered through professional consultations or online research.

The cost of implant dentures can vary greatly, with prices ranging from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands. There may be questions regarding the reasons behind the significant variation in costs.

The wide range can be explained by various factors.

In some cases, it may be necessary to extract severely decayed teeth. A preliminary surgical procedure may be necessary to extract teeth, perform a bone graft, and then implant mini dentures before continuing with additional dental work.

After a few months post-surgery, the gum tissue will fully heal, allowing temporary teeth to be placed and preventing the patient from being without teeth. Implants are typically inserted during the surgery when the original teeth are extracted.

After completing preparations, the next steps include the impression process, crafting, fitting, and finally placing the locator implant. These steps are both time-consuming and require a financial investment.

The cost of implant-supported overdentures, including snap-in options, usually falls between $15,000 and $25,000 for a full set of teeth, considering all relevant factors.

The fee includes costs for extractions, dental implants, interim dentures, and permanent dentures.

Implant dentures may have a higher cost than traditional dentures, but they provide the benefit of increased stability and eliminate the worry of teeth slipping or falling out.

What Are Snap-In Dentures?

Snap-in dentures are referred to by several names, including snap-on dentures, anchor supported-dentures, implant dentures, overdenture, and permanent denture. The name of a dental clinic does not affect the treatment outcome.

Snap-in dentures offer a modern alternative to traditional dentures, offering a secure fit without the use of adhesives. These dentures are designed to securely attach to permanent abutments in the jawbone for a comfortable and stable fit. Snap-in dentures, like regular dentures, should be removed every night for cleaning. False teeth usually require replacement every five years. Snap-in dentures are prone to damage, which can result in a faster deterioration of false teeth.

Snap-in dentures, similar to traditional dentures, have various disadvantages. The false teeth made from porous acrylic material can be prone to bacterial growth, which may cause unpleasant odors. Additionally, snap-in dentures made of acrylic can be easily damaged, requiring similar dietary restrictions to traditional dentures.

How does the process work?

The first step is to have dental implants placed in either the upper or lower jaw, or both for a complete set of dentures. After the implants are inserted, snap-in dentures can be secured by easily snapping them into place with the help of the implants.

Consuming food and beverages with overdentures is possible, but it is recommended to remove them before sleeping.

  • Procedure: After the oral surgeries are done, the implants will be placed in the jawbone where they are not visible. The implants will remain in your jaw without disturbance for at least 4 months while your bone fuses with them through the process of osseointegration.
  • Post op: A follow-up appointment has been scheduled to monitor the progress of your recovery after the procedure. During this appointment, we will evaluate your oral health, discuss any issues with dentures, and address any questions or concerns you may have.
  • Soft liners / soft re-fittings: Soft liners are commonly used to improve the comfort and fit of dentures during the healing process. Denture liners fill gaps between gums and dentures to provide cushioning for comfort and support during healing.
  • Uncovery: During this minimally invasive surgical procedure, implants will be uncovered and small healing abutments will be attached to shape the gum tissue in preparation for the final fitting of snap-in dentures.
  • Attachment of implants to dentures: The next step in the process includes moving from healing abutments to denture abutments and completing the process of attaching your dentures to your implants. This procedure usually takes one day, but sometimes it may take longer.
